An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Global Tax team as the Global Indirect Tax Manager who will handle all indirect tax matters globally in Pandora. This person will report directly to our Global Head of Tax and will be located in Copenhagen.

As our new Global Indirect Tax Manager, you will be responsible for customs duty and VAT within Pandora. You will provide tax planning and strategy within customs duty and VAT while managing the risks related to customs duty and VAT (anticipation, identification, evaluation and monitoring).

 

Customs duties include:

  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations, including classification of goods, non-preferential and preferential Country of Origin, bonded warehouses, free zones etc.
  • Globally implement and maintain processes to ensure that customs duties are handled correctly, and secure relevant documentation
  • Identify optimization initiatives
  • Manage and coordinate customs audits
  • Manage, apply and implement licenses/authorizations related to import and export

 

VAT duties include:

  • The role has a compliance focus, but is overall a strategic position with the main responsibility to establish and maintain the optimal Indirect Tax structure for Pandora
  • Close cooperation with Global Business Service Centre (GBS) in Poland who manage the daily VAT operation
  • Provide input to implementation of new ERP system
  • Establish global controlling actions on VAT
  • Manage and coordinate VAT audits

 

Other accountabilities include:

  • Ensure global compliance on relevant environmental taxes, such plastic and packaging taxes
  • Provide input on increasing compliance on CTC reporting obligations.
  • Influence on-going projects and initiatives in accordance with Group strategy

 

This being a truly global and vital role in Pandora, you will be a valuable business partner for several stakeholders in the global business including:

  • Global and regional supply chain functions
  • Teams from Regional Distribution Centres (Germany, UK, US and Thailand)
  • Management in Global Operations
  • Key functions at Production facilities in Thailand (and soon to be also Vietnam)
  • Tax team in Global Business Service Centre
  • Internal Audit Team
  • Service providers (e.g. any outsourcing partners)

 

Required Skills

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience from an accounting firm, an in-house position and/or tax authorities working with customs duties and VAT
  • Worked in an international environment
  • Experience from retail industry (preferred)
  • Preferably strong IT skills (Excel, ERP systems, VAT tools)

  • A positive, proactive attitude in order to share Indirect Tax experience and provide advice for the organization
  • Strong project management skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
