INTERNATIONAL TAX PLAZA - Belgian Ministry of Finance has published an updated DTA negotiations calendar

On December 12, 2014 the Belgian Ministry of Finance published an updated tax treaty negotiations calendar.

The calendar contains information regarding negotiations of DTAs with the following nine countries: Germany, France, Japan, Kenia, Kyrgyzstan, The Netherlands, Panama, Russian Federation and Saudi Arabia.

Germany

With respect to the negotiations on a complete revision of the 1967 DTA with Germany nothing new was reported. The third round of negotiations took place in December 2013 and the treaty was initialled.

France

With respect to the negotiations on a complete revision of the 1964 DTA with France the updated calendar notes that the first 2 rounds of negotiations took place in April and October 2014. According to the updated calendar the next round of negotiations is expected to take place mid 2015.

Japan

With respect to the negotiations on a partly revision of the 1968 DTA with France the updated calendar notes that the first round of negotiations is expected to take place in March 2015.

Kenia

With respect to a new DTA to be negotiated with Kenia the updated calendar notes that the first round of negotiations took place in October 2014 and that the second round of negotiations is expected to take place mid 2015.

Kyrgyzstan

With respect to a new DTA to be negotiated with Kyrgyzstan (to replace the 1987 DTA with the former USSR) the updated calendar notes that the first round of negotiations took place in October 2008 and that the second round of negotiations is expected to take place in 2015.

The Netherlands

With respect to the negotiations on a partly revision of the 2001 DTA with The Netherlands the updated calendar notes that the first round of negotiations took place in December 2009, the second round of negotiations in April 2010, the third round of negotiations on December 4, 2014 and the fourth round of negotiations is planned to take place in April 2015.

Panama

With respect to a new DTA to be negotiated with Panama the updated calendar notes that the first round of negotiations took place in January 2010 and that further negotiations will take place in writing.

Russian Federation

With respect to a new DTA with the Russian Federation nothing new has been reported. The updated calendar only states that the treaty was initialled in March 2012.

Saudi Arabia

With respect to a new DTA to be negotiated with Saudi Arabia the updated calendar notes that the first round of negotiations took place in February 2014 and that the second round of negotiations will take place from December 14 through December 18, 2014.
