Today a Decree of the Dutch Secretary of State for Finances announcing that in August 2014 the Dutch and Italian tax authorities concluded a Memorandum of Understanding regarding the exchange of information with respect to tax matters was published in the Staatscourant (the Dutch State Gazette). The MoU in particular regards the automatic exchange of information with respect to tax matters.

The countries will exchange information regarding a.o.: real estate, business profits, dividends, royalties, income from independent personal services, income from employment, Directors' fees, income derived by artists and sportsmen, pensions & similar remunerations and other income.

Furthermore the MoU contains provisions regarding the spontaneous exchange of information and the exchange of information upon request as well as provisions regarding the presence of tax officers on the territory of the other country. The first exchange of information will regard the year 2011.
