On April 12, 2016 the European Parliament issued a press release announcing that on that same day (April 12, 2016) the Members of the European Parliament will debate on the Panama Papers with Commissioner Moscovici and Ms Hennis-Plasschaert (Dutch Minister of Defence as replacement of the Dutch Minister of Finance). According to the press release during the debate it will be discussed whether existing EU measures against tax evasion and money laundering are working, or if more needs to be done in this respect.

The debate will take place during the plenary session of the European Parliament and according to the press release it is expected to start somewhere around 16.30 CET.
