INTERNATIONAL TAX PLAZA - Hong Kong concludes Competent Authority Agreements on the exchange of info with Belgium, Canada, Guernsey, Italy, the Netherlands and Mexico

On March 16, 2017 the OECD issued a press release announcing that on March 16, 2017 the competent authorities of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region concluded Competent Authority Agreements on the Automatic Exchange of Financial Account Information with the competent authorities of 6 more jurisdictions. Therewith the total number of jurisdictions with which Hong Kong has concluded such competent authority agreements comes to 9.

According to the OECD, the jurisdictions with which Hong Kong concluded competent authority agreements on March 16, 2017 include:

· Belgium;

· Canada;

· Guernsey;

· the Netherlands;

· Italy; and

· Mexico.

Earlier Hong Kong already concluded similar agreements with Japan, Korea and the United Kingdom.
