The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) announced that on September 12, 2014 the Protocols amending the existing DTAs as concluded between Singapore and the Czech Republic (signed on November 21, 1997) and between Singapore and Kazakhstan (signed on September 19, 2006) entered into force.

Both Protocols incorporate the internationally agreed Standard for the exchange of information.

The Protocol amending the Singapore - Czech DTA also contains a change to the royalty withholding tax rates in comparison to the rates included in the original DTA. Furthermore it provides a more favourable tax treatment for shipping income and capital gains. This Protocol also includes a revised Article 9 "ASSOCIATED ENTERPRISES".
