Position Description

As Senior Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

·   Oversee and ensure timely compliance of multi-state sales and use tax returns

·   Assist with state sales & use tax audits including procuring necessary detailed information, managing audit process, preparation of requested schedules and communications with various departments

·   Assist with monthly reconciliation of sales & use tax accounts

·   Maintain sales & use tax calendar due dates

·   Oversee maintenance of business licenses/permits

·   Review and approve sales tax exemptions

·   Research and respond to inquiries and notices from state and local sales and use tax authorities, vendors, customers and company personnel

·   Review and approve sales tax exemptions

·   Research and analyze sales & use tax issues and communicate findings both orally and in writing to financial and non-financial personnel within the company

·   Monitor sales & use tax developments and how developments affect the company’s operations

·   Identify and implement sales & use tax planning opportunities through review of laws and regulations

·   Work with payroll department regarding various payroll tax issues


Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

·   Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

·   3-5+ years’ experience with a preferred focus in sales & use tax

·   Attention to detail, accuracy, and meeting deadlines

·   Proficiency in Excel, Word, tax compliance software and on-line tax research
