Our Dublin office requires a Tax Operations Manager to work within the EMEA Asset Services department who are responsible for event types relating to equity and fixed income products. The Tax team are responsible for managing the tax processes on the back of events supported by Asset Services. These processes include the implementation of relief at source, tax reclaims for the proprietary business and the issuance of documentation to clients when requested.  


The candidate is expected to manage the team and day to day processes, while supporting demanding trading desks who require accurate information in a short period of time. Accuracy and ensuring deadlines are met are key to ensuring the firm does not suffer financial or reputational loss.


As a Tax Operations Manager your main responsibilities will involve:

·   Management of the tax team with hands on assistance in daily operational processes such as: reconciliation of withholding tax, submission of tax reclaims, implementation of relief at source, issuance of client documents and tax reporting

·   Ensure the ongoing development and maintenance of procedures and adherence to Corporate Tax guidelines, along with the adherence to internal bank and business line procedures and policies

·   Set team objectives and complete associate reviews

·   Conduct regular 1:1 meetings, team meetings and motivate the team to meet deadlines and targets

·   Management of client communications

·   Ensure client queries are responded to timely by the team

·   Manage relationships and service level agreements with internal and external clients

·   Work closely with the trading desk to support structured trades

·   Initiate change management to adapt solutions and resources when required including the management of and change to workflows to ensure efficient and timely processing and adherence to new tax regulations and requirements

·   Participate as a tax subject matter expert in client meetings, due diligence visits and new product reviews (NPR)

·   Respond to internal and external audit requests

·   Participate to market place Tax Working Groups (such as AMFE) to keep abreast of important tax issues


As a Tax Operations Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:


·   Third level qualification or equivalent by experience



·   People management skills

·   Client service skills

·   Self-motivation and demonstration of initiative

·   Extremely detail orientated

·   Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while respecting tight deadlines

·   Reconciliation and analytical skills with an aptitude for problem solving

·   Good PC skills, particularly Excel and the ability to navigate multiple systems

·   Good oral and written communication skills and ability to facilitate discussions



·   Proven Tax experience and knowledge of tax processes

·   Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while respecting tight deadlines

·   Self-motivation and demonstration of initiative

·   Financial impact awareness – appreciates the risk impact of actions undertaken

·   A flexible approach to work and the needs of the department

·   Knowledge of banking / financial services industry
