Senior Manager Value Added Tax (VAT)

Job Description
The Senior Manager VAT acts as the main point of contact for VAT related affairs.
The role involves providing expert advice to multiple stakeholders inside and outside of the organization. The Senior Senior Manager VAT reports into the Senior Director Finance & Tax Operations. 


Key responsibilities

·   Identify and drive efficiency improvements in VAT compliance requirements

·   Monitor relevant VAT law changes and jurisprudence and assess the business impact, raise VAT compliance awareness

·   Provide VAT advice to multiple stakeholders (e.g. assess business models and supply chains), liaise with external consultants

·   Identify potential tax planning opportunities and risks (e.g. optimize cash flow, implement simplification schemes)



·   Automate and standardize VAT compliance in the most cost-effective way

·   Draft companywide VAT policies and procedures, provide in-house training

·   Participate in business projects as subject matter expert

·   Manage VAT audits in cooperation with the business


Key technical skills / requirements

·   Background in finance and taxation (CPA, tax law, fiscal economics)

·   Proven experience in implementing and managing VAT accounting and reporting software

·   Advanced knowledge of EU VAT, at least 7 year experience as a VAT advisor or as in house VAT Manager

·   Fluent in English both verbal and written

·   Affinity with automation / IT

·   Able to work independently in multi-disciplinary teams with minimum supervision

·   Result oriented and hands-on attitude

·   Strong communication and interpersonal skills
