Spotify’s Tax is team is now looking for a new team member to our growing organization. In this role you will act as the generalist of the tax team as well as drive tax projects with a cross functional focus. You will also have a high involvement in incoming tax audits in collaboration with our business IT and ERP experts. You will be part of a team of 18 persons and you will be reporting to the VP of Tax within Finance. This role is based in Stockholm but will entail some travel. Relocation support will be offered if you currently live in another country.

What you’ll do

·   Be the tax generalist of the team, ready to delve into any project

·   Drive cross-functional tax related projects

·   Manage incoming tax audits to prepare and coordinate responses, this would include close cooperation with our business IT and ERP experts

·   Take part in and review M&A transactions from a Tax point of view

·   Support our business with review of new business projects or products

·   Review new deals and other contracts with respect to international tax matters

·   Stay updated on the development of International Tax rules and regulations in countries where Spotify is conducting its business

·   Manage external tax service providers and liaise with the relevant internal stakeholders

·   Close interactions with primarily the Tax Team, but also Accounting, and other relevant functions related to all of the above such as Business Development and Legal

·   Additional ad hoc duties to meet the needs of the business


Who you are

·   Experience from industry and/or from one of the larger revision firms enough to be self-propelled in the role

·   Relevant education, such as (tax)lawyer and/or certified public accountant (CPA) or economist

·   Excellent general knowledge about and experience with corporate income tax

·   Good general knowledge and experience with international tax and transfer pricing

·   Good general accounting skills and experience

·   Good “business sense” in combination with numbers

·   General knowledge of indirect taxes

·   Experience with financial systems (ERP, consolidation tools and management reporting tools), at Spotify we use Netsuite

·   Strong Microsoft application skills including the ability to prepare robust Excel models and the ability to learn new software platforms

·   Open, sincere, flexible and willing to dig in

·   Deep desire to perform with the best and drive constant improvement

·   Excellent English skills, both in written and spoken

·   Intellectually curious and eager to learn and develop every day

·   Not afraid to challenge and question colleagues (regardless of level) in a constructive manner, always with the best solution for Spotify in mind
