To ensure that all aspects of Tax Compliance, Planning and Reporting for ABB in the UK and Ireland are handled in a professional and timely manner and in accordance with Group Function Directives and Instructions. To support ABB Business colleagues to ensure that tax risk is assessed, measured and mitigated and that tax reliefs and opportunities are utilised fully where possible to optimise operational profitability.

 

Tasks:

·   Lead and monitor the external tax compliance outsourcing of the “small” countries within the UK Hub

·   Monitor and ensure tax compliance in line with corporate standards and guidelines

·   Identify and follow-through on compliance opportunities to achieve a sustainable low tax rate

·   Identify and follow-through on tax risk mitigation initiatives and measures

·   Implement and monitor the Corporate Tax Policy on the basis of defined priorities and fields of business activities as well as business risks to be covered. Ensure the proper implementation of the Tax Policy

·   Establish, implement and monitor tax routines to ensure compliance

·   Develop instructions about the handling of different tax issues, share them with business and other stakeholders, obtain their buy-in and make them part of the governance processes

·   Lead, ensure and participate in ABB internal tax reviews and projects

·   Identify trends in tax laws that have a major impact on corporate taxes and indirect taxes and initiate and implement respective remediation measures

·   Develop, implement and monitor the ABB Group methodology and tax methodology for the UK Hub

·   Accountability for tax audit

 

Requirements:

·   Experience in management of complex cross-functional/ cross-divisional tax projects

·   Communication and negotiation skills

·   Decisiveness and balanced risk management

·   Intercultural sensitivity

·   Analytical and strategic thinking with the ability to communicate with senior management

·   Identify trends and define strategic actions
