On December 30, 2014 the Dutch Ministry of Finance published a decree ammending the existing Fiscal Unity Decree from December 14, 2010.

On December 23, 2014 The Davis Tax Committee (DTC) released its First Interim Report on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS), titled: “ADDRESSING BASE EROSION AND PROFIT SHIFTING IN SOUTH AFRICA – DAVIS  TAX COMMITTEE INTERIM REPORT” for public comment. According to a Media Statement in which the release of the report is announced, the report was submitted to the South African Minister of Finance on June 30, 2014, who now authorized the DTC to release the report for public comment. The First Interim Report on BEPS is now available for public comment on the DTC website.

On February 23 and 24, 2015 The European Commission's Directorate General Taxation and Customs Union (Hereafter; EC) is organizing – jointly with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) – a high level conference on corporate debt bias. The EC and the IMF have named the conference: “Corporate debt bias: Economic Insights and Policy Options".  Based on a news release issued by the European Commission in this respect, the objective of the conference is taking stock of the recent tax policy debate on the corporate debt bias and the recent research mostly focused on the financial sector, bringing together academia and policy makers.

On December 20, 2014 we reported on the guidance titled “VAT: businesses supplying digital services to private consumers” as published by the UK Government on its website GOV.UK. On December 22, 2014 the UK Government already updated this recently published guidance. Furthermore, on December 22, 2014 the UK Government published a VAT Mini One Stop Shop flowchart on its website.
