On October 6, 2010 the European Commission announced that on September 25, 2014 the Director-General for Taxation and Customs Union appointed the members of the VAT Expert Group. The members of the VAT Expert Group will have a mandate of 2 years, starting on October 1, 2014.

The VAT Expert Group assists and advises the European Commission on VAT matters.

The appointed members of the VAT Expert Group can be divided into two groups.

The first group consists of organizations appointed as members of the VAT Expert Group. This group exists out of 34 organizations and contains a.o. the usual suspects such as: Deloitte LLP, Ernst & Young Europe, KPMG EMA, TEI and Taxand.

Next to the group of organizations that is appointed as members of the VAT Expert Group, there is also a number of individuals that is appointed in their personal capacity.
