During the meeting of the European Economic and Financial Affairs Council on February 12, 2015 the European Commission will present its Anti Tax Avoidance Package.

The Anti Tax Avoidance Package is a set of new proposals aimed at strengthening the EU rules against tax avoidance. The package includes measures aimed at combating aggressive tax planning as well as measures boosting transparency between member states. According to an Agenda of the meeting that is available on the website of the European Council/Council of the European Union the Ministers will have a first exchange of views in preparation for further handling of individual proposals in the Council.

The presentation of the Anti Tax Avoidance Package is one of the items on the Agenda. Other items on the Agenda include a.o.: 

·        Preparation for the meeting of G20 finance ministers and central bank governors, which will take place on 25-27 February 2016, in Shanghai (China)

·        The Council will discuss the state of play in implementing the banking union legislation into the national law of EU member states

·        Fight against terrorist financing

·        EU budget
