On July 15, 2016 a law (from July 6, 2016) approving the Agreement between the Kingdom of the Netherlands, in respect of Curaçao, and the United States of America to improve international tax compliance and to implement FATCA (signed on December 16, 2014) was published in the Staatsblad (State Gazette). Also on July 15, 2016 a law approving an exchange of notes that took place on September 28 and September 29, 2015 and that constitutes a Supplementary Agreement to the Agreement of December 16, 2014 between the Kingdom of the Netherlands, in respect of Curaçao, and the United States of America to improve international tax compliance and to implement FATCA was published in the Staatsblad.

The fact that the approving laws were published in the Staatsblad on July 15, 2016 means that the approving laws entered into force on July 16, 2016.
