On April 27, 2017 and May 2, 2017 the European Parliament’s Committee of Inquiry into Money Laundering, Tax Avoidance and Tax Evasion (PANA) held two meetings during which a series of studies that were prepared on request of the PANA Committee were presented. April 27 meeting

During the meeting of April 27, 2017 a.o. the following studies were presented/discussed:

·   The Impact of Schemes revealed by the Panama Papers on the Economy and Finances of a Sample of Member States; and

·   Fighting tax crimes – Cooperation between Financial Intelligence Units (Ex-Post Impact Assessment)

 

May 2 meeting

During the meeting of May 2, 2017 a.o. the following studies were presented/discussed:

·   Role of advisors and intermediaries in the schemes revealed in the Panama Papers (In-depth analysis);

·   Rules on independence and responsibility regarding auditing, tax advice, accountancy, account certification services and legal services; and

·   Tax evasion, money laundering and tax transparency in the EU Overseas Countries and Territories (Ex-Post Impact Assessment).
