On February 20, 2015 the Japanese Ministry of Finance issued a press release announcing that on February 20, 2015 Japan and the State of Qatar signed an Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income (Hereafter: DTA). Although the DTA has been signed, it has not yet entered into force. The DTA will enter into force once both countries have completed their legislative procedures.

On February 19, 2015 the UK HM Revenue & Customs issued a press release announcing that on February 18, 2015 the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria signed a Convention for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion and Tax Fraud with respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital Gains (Hereafter: DTA), amending the existing convention for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion and tax fraud with respect to taxes on income and on capital. Although the DTA has been signed, it has not yet entered into force. The DTA will enter into force once both countries have completed their legislative procedures.

On February 19, 2015 the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) issued a news release in which it states that in some cases it has begun gathering current tax and deferred tax working papers that form the basis of tax notes within published financial statements of large businesses.

On the website of the European Commission an updated list of Guidelines resulting from meetings from the VAT Committee was published. The updates include Guidelines resulting from the 101st meeting of the Committee (the meeting of October 20, 2014).
